Yesterday I finished building a railing around the deck of the house that we theoretically will own on the 31st. Silly stuff, having to work on a house that isn’t yet ours, but it’s cheaper than paying someone else to do it. The situation is strange, as we qualify for a grant for this house that has some pretty stringent requirements. It’s worth enough money to be worthwhile, but has also extended our closing time by about a month. We have it pretty good right now living with the in-laws, but I know I’d rather be living under my own roof again. Only two more weeks to go. I hope. We thought we were going to be closing today until just a few days ago. House buying is hard.
