I had a meeting across campus today and on my way back I walked by the Occupational Health office. I get frequent reminders to stop in for my TB test so I did and they got me in right away. I filled out some forms and they told me I was due for a Tetanus shot. I hadn’t planned on getting poked twice, but I just said OK before I could allow myself to worry about it at all. The nurse who stuck me was awesome though, and I didn’t feel a thing. Didn’t even know she gave me the shot. That was cool. I felt the TB stick, but that one is crummy anyway and stretches out your skin.
I feel a little giddy now though and should probably drink some water. I don’t mind shots too much, but there’s something a little funny about introducing foreign objects into your body without going through predetermined channels. Anyway, nothing like a spur of the moment vaccination to start your day! And here’s hoping I didn’t contract TB this year (I go back for the reading Wednesday).
UPDATE: Two hours later my shoulder is pretty darn sore.
